Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of the Vela Digital Hosting Agreement. It applies to everything you host on, send through, or do with the service — including the conduct of your end users. We may update it from time to time for legal or operational reasons.
Prohibited content
Material you must not host on the service.
You must not use the service to store, publish or transmit content that:
- is unlawful, or infringes another person's intellectual-property, privacy or other rights;
- is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or incites violence or hatred;
- is, or facilitates access to, child sexual abuse material or other content illegal to possess or distribute;
- contains malware, or is designed to harm, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any system or data;
- breaches export controls, sanctions, or other applicable law.
Prohibited conduct
Uses of the service that are not allowed regardless of content.
You must not:
- send unsolicited bulk or commercial email (spam), or breach anti-spam laws such as PECR or the EU ePrivacy rules;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to, scan, or disrupt the service, other customers, or any third-party system;
- use the service to run open mail relays, proxies, or anonymisation services for abuse;
- impose an unreasonable or disproportionate load on shared infrastructure, or circumvent usage limits;
- resell or sublicense the service except as expressly permitted in writing.
Security & your responsibilities
What we need from you to keep the platform safe.
- Keep your account credentials secure and your hosted software reasonably up to date.
- Tell us without undue delay if you suspect a compromise of your account or content.
- Ensure your end users' use of anything you host also complies with this AUP — you are responsible for it.
Enforcement
What we do when this policy is breached.
Where we reasonably believe this AUP has been breached, we may remove or disable access to offending content and, where necessary and proportionate, suspend or terminate the service in line with the Suspension & termination clause of the Agreement. We will give you notice and an opportunity to put things right where it is reasonable and lawful to do so; for serious or unlawful content we may act immediately and, where required, report it to the relevant authorities.
Reporting abuse
How to tell us about a problem.
To report content or conduct that may breach this policy, email info@vela-digital.uk with the details and the relevant URL. We review reports promptly and act where the policy or the law requires.
